Me in less than 2 minutes
Hi there, my name is Frederic Peyrot and I wanted to share a bit more with you here.
I’m a French citizen living in Japan since 2009. I’ve always loved traveling and have lived in several places including Paris, Boston, Brussels, and Hanoi… But I followed my heart and it is in Japan that I decided to stay.
I am currently working as Chief Operations Officer at AIR, the innovation lab of en-japan inc. (one of Japan’s leading human resources companies) building Tech products for the HR industry. Previously, I was overseeing the development of Smart Building solutions at Orange Labs Tokyo.
Between 2012 and 2016, I’ve been deeply involved in the Japan startups ecosystem. I launched my own Tokyo-based start-up back in 2012, was hosting the Japan Venture Show, a podcast on entrepreneurship and the startup scene in Japan, and co-organized of Pioneers Asia, a large scale festival for start-ups, where I have been leading the Pioneers Dojo, a 5-month mentoring program for young start-ups. During this period, I’ve also been advising startups (advice is cheap), with the goal to keep learning by teaching (to date, I remain involved with Ikkai as a friend and shareholder).
In 2015, my beautiful wife, Sayoko, gave birth to twin angels, Serena & Clara. Since then, I’ve made sure to put my family as first priority in life. This also pushed me to be more selective in my projects and activities (see what I’m doing Now).
Besides family & technology, I have a passion for music, culinary arts, international travels. I am also obsessed with self-improvement using psychology, philosophy, and constant learning to become a superhuman (check my Life heuristics).
I am curious and ambitious, but I do not seek meaning in life. I just try to simply be happy everyday.
